Dear Colleagues all over the world wherever you are:
We are very pleased to inform you of online publication of Vol. 2, No. 1 issue of our journal, Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM). Please find it at http://www.pvamu.edu/pages/398.asp. Our next issue will be online in December of 2007.
It is with pride to let you know that our journal not only is registered with the Library of Congress under ISSN 1932-9466, but the papers in our journal are now included in the Current Mathematical Publications (CMP) of the American Mathematical Society (AMS). For instance, for the last paper of AAM, Vol. 1, No. 2, one can find the following (seeCMP Issue 2007:07, Section 62, Statistics):
Montazer-Haghighi, Ali Akba (with Vakil, Roozbeh (1-STCS); Wetiba, Johnson K.). Reverse-traditional/hands-on: an alternative method of teaching statistics. (English summary). Appl. Appl. Math. 1 (2006), no. 1, 62--82 (electronic). MSC: 62 (62P, 97).
Furthermore, our journal and papers in it are reviewed and/or included in the Mathematical Review of the American Mathematical Society, MathSciNetMathematical Reviews on the Web. For instance, please refer to:
We know that some of you are spending your summer holidays away from your offices, but hopefully have access to your e-mails and check them for good news like this. It is important to stay connected and be informed. One of our primary and most urgent concerns is the assurance of excellence and high standard of articles to be included in an online publication such as AAM. Each paper has been reviewed by at least two peer reviewers. However, with all it took, we still have a long way to go. As with any aspect of our work, there is a room for improvement. We are willing to take honest, objective looks at our efforts, as we have after the publication of the last two issues, and re-commit to doing our best for our future issues.
We are so grateful for the help of many who made this task possible. As always Dr. Dimitar P. Michev (Mishev) with his constant help and advice, all reviewers with their patience and rigorous review and comments, the contributors with their high quality manuscripts and their patience for revisions (sometimes several times), the board of editors who gave us the honor of working with them, the Office of Institutional Relations and Public Service at Prairie View A&M University for providing the opportunity and assistance to put the journal online.
